uploading photos on blogger is such a pain. takes like forever... n i only loaded a third of my photos frm my china trip.
the trip was pretty fun (minus the trips to buy silk, chinese medicine n tea), w some unintended excitement... tot lw n i were kinda adventurous. lol. thx to the precious lonely planet guidebk lw borrowed. lonely planet rox!!!
day 1 - at the airport...
yay! both of us, stuck tgt, taking one person photos for 8 freaking days!!! lol.
ty sent us off after lunch at the airport. n our tour grp had like a whole bunch of aunties n uncles... as expected. lol. took shenzhen airlines...

by the time we reached nanning, it was alrdy night time...

day 2 - had to wake up super early :x
went to nanhu park...
monument dedicated to someone during the cultural revolution i think, duno who... half the time, we cldnt really understand wat the tour guide, xiao gang, was talking abt. pretty sucky at chinese...
nxt stop, nanning exhibition n conference hall. weird!!! bt at least suzhou industrial park wasnt on our itinerary. start of the stupid photos mania...

day 3 - yangshou. nice stop-over place...
watched impressions of liu san jie... lw n i had a hard time figuring out who exactly liu san jie was, even after watching the performance. haha. anyw, both of us didnt intend to go for the performance at first, bt after the tour guide's persistent (n i mean REALLY PERSISTENT) psycho-ing n INTENSIVE promoting, we decided to go. say hi to additional commission, xiao gang. the performance was supposed to be part of the optional tour package. bt in the end, it was more of a compulsory thing. made us pay an additional S$100. we're poor little students ok.
bt at least the performance wasnt too bad. held on the river, with ard 600 performers...
went to west street later for some night shopping...
day 4 - yangshou/guilin
scenery at Li river... took a cruise dwn the river, really pretty!!! liked it a lot!

day 5 - at yushan park i think... n another round of stupid photos mania

aftr tt, went for foot massage. weird experience. cos it turned out to be more than juz foot massage. bt then, the aunties n uncles liked it very much.

day 6 - cruise dwn duno wat river. haha
stupid pose we copied from some tourist photograph... n one of the aunties copied us again. lol

day 6 - back in nanning
we cooked maggi in a jug. lol

day 7 - free n easy. both of us decided to head off for a western breakfast at jojo's place in the morning then make a trip to yangmei. spent ard 2 hrs walking under the hot sun bt we still cldnt find it. sad. ended up eating at coffee.milo. nice atmosphere n real nice mango ice drink:)

our lunch
headed off to yangmei after lunch. yangmei's a rural village located at the outskirts of nanning. so, it's not as commercialized n artificial. both of us caught the 3:30 bus. we were like the odd ones out cos the whole bus was filled with villagers only. no tourists. had the dustiest n bumpiest ride ever. halfway thru the trip, us noobs realised tt we were on the last bus to yangmei w no bus back to nanning. n our flight's the nxt day. so if we dun get back to nanning in time, we're stuck in china. ohoh. gt panicky, so asked the bus driver to stop the bus when we saw a van driving in the opp direction. both of us practically ran after the van, hoping to hitch a ride back to nanning. luckily, the ppl in the van were REAL NICE. drove us to jiangxi village n gt someone there to bring us back to nanning. as predicted by dear lw, we gt back just in time for a late dinner at mac. lol. real scary n eventful huh. so, in the end, we didnt go to yangmei though we were juz 3 mins away when we got off the bus. bt still, both of us shall INSIST tt we DID go to yangmei in our own lalaland. so here are the pics.
